Halloween 2012

We spend Halloween this year at Rachel and John’s house. They live in such a fun neighborhood that does Halloween really well! Every house is decorated extravagantly, they give out great candy, and it is safe! What more could you want?

First Field Trip

Today was Will’s first field trip. Well, first official field trip. I had mixed emotions about today…on one hand I was super excited to go spend time with guy and his classmates…on another hand, going on this field trip proves to me he is for real in school. We went to Lucky Ladd with the whole Kindergarten class. It was record breaking cold and we all nearly froze to death, but that did not stop the kids from having a blast. Lucky Ladd was so fun and the field trip was so organized. In fact, there was so little down time that I was not even scared about a kid getting lost! They picked out a pumpkin, climbed on tires, went down slides, and actually posed for a picture with the Momma. It was a super fun day and a memory. I am so thankful that I was able to go and spend time with my big guy!

Annual Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we carved pumpkins. Every year the kids want a different pumpkin. Something unique. This year Jesse did a kitty cat for Caroline and a Vampire for Will. Will did not mind cleaning it out as you can see, little sister…well, that is a different story!!!

Fall Break 2012

Will had a few days off from school and Jesse was out of town, so rather than sit around at home…we planned a little trip to the mountains. My parents decided to go with us this time and we ended up having such a fun time. We have been to Gatlinburg lots of times, but we had never been to the Aquarium or the Dixie Stampede. So this time, we decided to do both! The Aquarium was so fun. It was way better than I anticipated and was well worth the money. They have a great shark exhibit and both of the kids loved it. You ride on a conveyer belt and the shark tank is all around you and above you! Super scary and cool! We ate pancakes, a yummy dinner at the Dixie Stampede (which is so worth the money), and we played a little mini golf! Such a nice little break from school!!!

Third Annual Banebow

Today was the third annual Banebow 5K. Three years ago, our friends lost their precious son at 9 months old. Every year since, they have organized a 5K on his birthday for family, friends, and the general public to help them celebrate his life. I am always amazed at their strength on this day. I cannot imagine what they must feel like every day…but especially on such an important day, without their son. It is an honor each year to walk alongside them and share in their sorrow and celebration. This year was the first year Jesse could participate. I am going to brag on him. He finished 14th overall out of over 150 runners and he didn’t even train! Whoop whoop, my man is in shape! Will was there but was too busy running around with his buddies to pose for a picture! My mom came too with me at 7:00 am to help sell T shirts…she is the best. It was a wonderful day and I hugged my kids a little tighter that night…

Lucky Ladd with Friends

Last Friday, we were scheduled to go with a group of friends to Lucky Ladd, a pumpkin farm nearby. Unfortunately, it rained! So we ended up rescheduling with part of the group and going today. It was COLD. Not kind of cold, plain ole cold!  Mommy did not realize how cold or how dirty the farm would be and I did not dress little Miss accordingly, so needless to say we wore our jacket most of the time and I used half a bottle of spray and wash on the outfit my Mom made her for Fall. Oh well. A couple of years ago, I  would have let Caroline’s outfit getting dirty ruin my time. But life is too short to worry about clothes! So, I just let the girl play and get as muddy as she wanted! Her friends Lila and Audrey met us and Henry, Lila’s little brother, came too! We had lots of fun. We fed the animals, played on playgrounds, went down big slides, and had a picnic lunch. It was a sweet time for Caroline and two of her best girlfriends! Mommy had fun too talking to two of her best girlfriends!

No School Day=Fun Day

Today was Parent Teacher Conference Day at school, so school was out for the children! Caroline was so excited to have her brother home with her for the day and we made sure to take full advantage of the free day!

First, we headed to a “jumpy” place as Caroline calls it. The kids jumped for a couple of hours. It was our first time to go to this particular “jumpy” place and I really liked it. It was clean and there were only children under six during the hours we were there. DSCN5086

After we finished jumping, we headed to lunch. Will loves Nachos. So we headed to a place that serves up yummy nachos! They were just enjoying spending time with each other!DSCN5106

After lunch, we headed to Target to spend the tooth fairy money. It has been burning a hole in his little pocket. He settled on Star Wars characters, but he sure did like this wrestling man!DSCN5108

On the way home we stopped by the local pumpkin patch. Will was having fun, but Caroline was super sleepy and needed to use the bathroom, so we only stayed for a few minutes.
