Princess Pinterest Party

Caroline announced in May that she would like to have a Princess party for her birthday. I started immediately looking on Pinterest for ideas for her party. Boy, did I find a ton!!! I love Pinterest. Here are some photos from her party inspired by Pinterest!

Good Party favors are a must! I found these baskets (minus the tulle) on sale last Easter for .20. What a steal. I snagged them thinking I would use them for Caroline’s preschool class at Easter…thankful I saved these babies! They were the perfect basket for my party favors! I added the tulle to make it coordinate with the colors of the Princess dresses. I added rick rack for embellishments and there you have it a basket perfect for a Princess!

IMG_5701

I attached a princess sticker on top with curling ribbon…just in case you couldn’t tell which princess went with a the basket!

IMG_5703

Inside the princess basket, I made a party favor bag…that contained wands, rings, a princess necklace and bracelet, nail polish, lip gloss, and candy.

IMG_5706

I found these napkins on sale for 1.25 for 50 at Hobby Lobby! Yes, I will take that! I got the “silver” utensils at Dollar Tree for 1.00! Woo hoo, what a steal! I found these adorable glasses at the Dollar Tree too and I added the flower embellishment! Talk about cheap! The letter above the place setting was a craft letter that I spray painted and glittered!

IMG_5707

This is one of my faves! I made these using a whiffle ball and silk flowers! So fun. I then put them on a candle stick holder! Perfect center piece!!

IMG_5708

My sister got married a couple of years ago in an outdoor ceremony…my mom saved ALL the tulle! So we repurposed it and there  you have a perfect princess ceiling!

IMG_5787

This was the food area. We had Cinderella Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Jasmine’s Jelly Sandwiches, Princess Pretzel Wands, Snow White Strawberry Salad, and Princess Pasta Salad.

IMG_5710

My Mom helped by making card stock signs for each type of food.

IMG_5709

Here is the cake…You would never know that less than 12 hours ago it looked like this….

IMG_5689

Note to self…NEVER order a cake from Target!!!

IMG_5712

I hung up Caroline’s dresses in the hallway.

The little girls lunched in the dining room…Beautiful!

IMG_5716

My Mom made this banner. She also helped me make the paper flowers. They added so much to the tulle and made it look so sweet!

IMG_5720

We decorated the outside and made a back drop for pics!

The invitation I ordered from Etsy!

So there you have it! The Pinterest Princess Party!

Phone dump

I have been so BAD at keeping up with my blog lately. It is really making me crazy! Here is what last week looked like off of my phone!

Will was “King for the day” in his classroom! Adorable! His teacher thinks of everything! She gives each child a piece of paper with Will’s name on it. They all practice writing his name and then draw a picture of King Will. She then makes it into a book that Will gets to keep! He has loved looking at it!!!

Sweet Miss Charlotte turned one on August 16th! She had the sweetest watermelon themed birthday party! Aunt Kiki went all out and the treats were so yummy! I love this picture of Will and Charlotte. He loves that baby!

My work has started back again for the semester. I had a meeting the other day and Mom took Caroline to a park nearby! They had the best time! I wish she was looking at the camera, but it is still a sweet pic!

Caroline has learned to swim this year. She is doing so well. Jesse took her swimming the other day in the indoor pool and she loved it. We will have to do this some over the winter, so that they don’t lose their swimming skills!

I had to work on Saturday, so Will and Caroline stayed with Bebe. She took them swimming at Jack and Abby’s! They had so much fun, but the weather wasn’t great, so they went back to Rachel’s and played dress up! How cute are these two?

First Day of School…

I spent most of the first day of school thinking…”What was I thinking?” I scheduled Caroline’s ear tube removal on Will’s first day of school! Am I crazy or what? So that morning was spent worrying about both children. However, the day went great and so smoothly!!!

Here is the Princess waiting to go back!246808_4454591765652_64369616_n

I rushed back to meet this little guy to walk him in on his first day of school. Be still my heart…is he not sweet. Needless to say, he did so great and has loved school thus far!!

This is his precious teacher, Mrs. Brown. She has been a teacher for 38 years! We are so blessed!!!

I picked this little guy up…he was so cute and little sister had a couple of surprises for him! She missed him…and I did too!

My Kindergarten observation: Was not as bad as I thought. Missed him more than I thought I would.

Kindergarten Half day

Today was Will’s first day in Kindergarten. It was only a half day and with only half of the class. I think that is a great way to transition the student in and it was nice that he went today and does not go tomorrow, to transition the Mommy in. I did fairly well, considering. I cried like a little baby last night as I packed his school bag and wrote his name on his envelope for his lunch money. I called my mom… she was of course full of sage advice. Thank God for Moms! She told me exactly what I needed to hear… she told me that this was a milestone and what a blessing that he is able to meet it. Amen to that. I am so thankful that Will is an active, healthy young boy and that he is thrilled to go to Kindergarten. I will miss him, but I think it will only make those moments we are together all the more sweeter! I love you Will!

IMG_5937

He wore his brand new shoes today! He was pumped!

Of course somebody wanted to also be in the picture!

Last day of freedom…

Just kidding…well, kind of. Today we enjoyed one of our last days of freedom before Will starts Kindergarten. We headed up to the Murfreesboro Discovery Center. This place was a blast. Unfortunately, my camera battery died midway through the adventure. Here are a couple of pictures that we managed to snag. They had so much fun! Thanks Nonni!

IMG_5919

They had a whole transportation section. Will loved this section!

IMG_5920

They have a section where you learn to farm and take your produce to a market…so cute!
