DAY!!!

We have been at my Mom’s house all afternoon waiting out these storm and tornado watches! So we decided to get a little crafty. I went to a baby shower Sunday afternoon and a friend had made an adorable wreath for the door. She did her wreath for the mother to take home and put in the nursery. She gave me a quick tutorial and I have wanted to make one all week. So, my mom has tons of remnant fabric that she gave me. Here is the finished product!!! So easy!!!

IMG_4417

Things you need:

Foam Ring ( I used the medium ring from Hobby Lobby and I got it for 40 % off, so it ended up being about $3.00.

Fabric- You can use pretty much any type or color. I used old remnants that my mom had lying around

Good pair of Sharp scissors (the good thing is you don’t have to be precise.

Small piece of craft wire to hang the wreath after you are finished.

A good friend or Mom to help you cut it!!!

You cut the fabric into 2 inch strips, long enough that you can tie it in a knot around a foam wreath. After you tie it you will need to clip the edges shorter so that they will stand up and look pretty. Get creative and use lots of bright color fabrics. I think I will leave this up all Spring!

Springing into March

Wow! February is almost over…no way!!! After school today, we had the best time playing outside. We went on Nature hike, played with the cat, and played a little soccer. It was delightful. The weather, the company, and God’s beauty.

Caroline was so playful this afternoon!

I got some tonsils…

Sweet sister is over it. Done. She has had it up to here.

Caroline is tired of the cards, tired of the gifts, and tired of Will sitting in her Momma’s lap.

She told me so and  tonight we were eating dinner with my parents before I headed to work and little sis busted out, “I got some tonsils”. “I think I am going to get them out and get lots of stuff like Will”.

It was all I could do not to laugh hysterically. Poor baby. She wants to have surgery because she thinks she will get gifts and get lots of attention.

I had no clue how jealous little three year olds are!

Not that we are having a baby anytime soon, but this just makes me realize that little sister is just not ready to share her spot as baby! And that is okay, cause I love that baby!

Will’s Tonsillectomy

Yesterday, Will had a tonsillectomy. It went far better than I could have ever hoped for or imagined. We were blessed. Blessed by a wonderful  doctor. Blessed by a sweet nurse who cared for our child, blessed by phone calls and texts from friends and family and Will was blessed with lots of gifts and couple of visitors. We are so grateful and happy that we have this behind us!

IMG_4376

Here is my sweet baby. He is so nervous. This is before the “sleepy” medicine.

IMG_4377

After the “sleepy” medicine. Most of my friend’s said he would act crazy or say something funny. Not my child, it just made him quiet! Which is strange for him!!!

IMG_4378

This is what he looked like when we were able to go back and see him…Pitiful!

IMG_4379

He kept saying, “I want to go home”

So here we are with Ms. Pam, going home!!!

Weekend Wrap up

Friday afternoon Caroline , Mom and I took dinner to my friend Jessica and we were able to see her precious little boy, Noah. Oh my word. He is a doll. No joke, he is one of the prettiest babies I have ever seen. This picture does not even sort of do the child justice. He was ready to eat and was a little fussy.

Jesse took Will to his last hockey practice. He had a blast and was able to score a goal on Nash!

Friday night, Jesse took Caroline to a daddy daughter dance at our church. Be still my heart. I am telling you, I fell in love with him all over again watching him hold her hand and walk her into the church. She was so excited she could hardly stand still long enough for me to get a picture of the two of them. She wore the sweetest little dress that Jesse’s grandmother had made her and she looked like a little doll. When she got home she was talking so fast about the cupcakes and the chicken dance and dancing with daddy, that I could hardly keep up. What a sweet memory for the two of them. I still remember going to a daddy daughter dance with my daddy. There is just something special about the first man that will ever love you. I am so thankful for my Father and for the wonderful Father that my husband is.

While Jesse and Care danced the night away…Will and I watched Netflix and ate ice cream!!! My kind of night!!!

Saturday, Will played in a tournament at Bethesda and the were the Bethesda League Champions!!! So proud of them!!! And he was proud of this!!!

And last but not least…tomorrow my sweet boy is having his tonsils out. Will you pray for a smooth surgery and a quick recovery?

Better

Monday, Caroline felt better. Not great, but better. We headed to ballet and to hang out with Maclaine. We were supposed to go to a friend’s house to play, but we decided to not share our germs with too many people. Dance was fun and Caroline got lots of Valentine treats and then we headed to Zaxby’s for a little lunch. I love these two precious girls. They are sweet cousins and friends and they remind me so much of Mac’s mommy and me. They even have our personalities!

IMG_4359

I had to take a picture of these adorable pants that my mom made Caroline. They are denim. Caroline HATES jeans. She calls them “mean pants”. I think she just does not like how they feel and she hates things that are tight. So the other day, Mom and I saw a little girl at the mall with these kind of jeans on. I am so thankful that my momma is so crafty!  I also had to take a picture of my sweetie since it was the first smile I have gotten in a few days!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our weekend was busy and germy. On Thursday, Caroline’s teacher met me and another mom at the door to tell us that a virus was running rampant through the Monday- Wednesday MDO class…wouldn’t you know Friday morning, Caroline woke up with the virus. So needless to say, we were inside most of the weekend. Will had hockey on Friday night and he had a blast. I tried to get some cute pics but Will was skating around  like crazy and it is difficult to find your child on the ice. It really was not difficult to find Will though because Jesse put orange T’s on both sides of his helmet. Yes, we are that family. We will try to incorporate our team into every aspect of our life!!!The funniest part of the night was when they divided the children into groups by skill level. Will was visibly one of the youngest children out there was put in a group with children his age. I was walking around the rink checking him out when all of a sudden I lost him. I was looking all over trying to find his helmet with the huge orange T’s on it, when finally I found him.  He had somehow managed to get mixed up in the advanced group. I kept thinking someone would realize and put him back in the correct group. No one ever did. He didn’t let it bother him but it made me laugh hysterically because he was a least 20 feet behind them in every drill. Crazy boy!!!

Here is my precious little sick girl.

IMG_4351

Saturday, the Bethesda Blue Devils (who wear orange and white jerseys") finished up their last game of the regular season. Will has loved basketball and is improving each week. We have a tournament next weekend and then we will slide on into soccer! Wow, sports really does keep a Momma and Daddy busy! I really need to brush up on my sports photography especially if I am going to be taking as many as I have taken this year, in the coming years!
