Goodbye 2011

Well, it is that time again. Out with the old, in with the new. Goodbye 2011! This has been a really good year for the Pilkintons. We have had fun adventures, made fun memories, and watched the children grow like weeds. I will look back on this year fondly. See you next year!

Here is our year in pictures.

What we have been up too…

Tuesday, I went to eat lunch with one of my best friends. She is a light in my life and I love spending time with her. We had the best time catching up and I was just so happy to see her.

Wednesday, my sister came back into town and we hung out all day and took the kids to Monkey Joe’s to burn of some energy…that is what the pictures from Wordless Wednesday are.

Wednesday night we went to see my little cousin Jessica who was in labor and ended up staying up all night awaiting sweet Judson’s birth. He did finally arrive at 1001 on Thursday morning at 9 lbs and 20 inches long! He was such a big beautiful baby boy! We were so tired that on Thursday night we all went to bed at 7:00 PM!!!

Christmas Day

This morning, when the house was quiet and Santa was stuffing the last stocking, I couldn’t help but think back to the night Mary held that sweet baby. Baby Jesus…the greatest gift of all. This year, Santa decided to do less. The children receive so much from other family members and in effort to take the focus off gifts and place it on Jesus. The children were so appreciative and have played with their gifts all morning and afternoon. My parents and my grandparents came this morning to see them receive their Santa presents and then we had a quick breakfast and headed to church. I love that Christmas fell on the Sabbath. It just made it seem even “holier”. It also helped the children truly understand that today was the Lord’s Day. The day that love came down. My heart is so full this Christmas, celebrating all that I have been given and I just feel so blessed. I hope that you know Jesus and if you do not…there is no time like the present. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Today was soooo fun! We kicked off the day by going through our old toys and weeding out and donating to Goodwill. Then my sister came over and we made sugar cookies. Growing up this was a tradition that I loved and I am so excited we get to share this with my children. The kids loved it and it got super messy! They were not the prettiest cookies ever, but we had fun decorating them and they tasted so yummy.

After baking we headed to the Goodwill to drop off the old toys and headed over to see Jesse’s Dad. We also saw sweet Charlotte again…yum. She is adorable and I just can get over how much I love her! Being an aunt is so fun!
