New Year's Eve

We didn't get Wild...We didn't get Crazy...
Who am I kidding...

WE ALREADY ARE WILD AND CRAZY!!!

Jesse was out of town, so we headed to Chattanooga for the day to hang out and enjoy the 68 degree weather on NYE!!! Chattanooga is very fun. Who knew we lived two hours from such a cool city! We enjoyed hot dogs, played in the park, and walked about 6 miles! Needless to say, the kiddos slept the whole way home!!!

Christmas Day

Santa was good to us this year...Jesus is good to us always.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Isaiah 52:7
Our God does reign. Thanks be to God for his gift...JESUS.
This Christmas was the best yet. The children loved every part of it. Christmas Eve night, we put cookies out for Santa, sprinkled reindeer food, put on our Christmas jammies, and read the Christmas story about our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Here is a glimpse into our morning. The kids gave Mommy and Daddy a present...they slept until 8:00! You can see the children were blessed.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve night with my side of the family at my parents house. We had dinner and opened up lots of presents!

Will and Caroline in front of the tree. Will looks very sleepy!

Awww, they do love each other!

Waiting patiently to open their presents! This lasted for about two minutes!

My grandparents

I love this pic. Jesse has great relationships with all of his brother in laws, and this makes me so happy to see my husband and my brother in law as friends. They have became much closer this year and this makes me smile!

Oh yes she did. My grandmother got us matching sweaters! I guess we will be calling each other and making sure the other is not wearing it that day!!!

Christmas at BeBe's

After lunch at Grandmother's we napped and headed over to Bebe's for Christmas with Jesse's brothers and sisters. I love hanging out with them and it is amazing how in six and half short years, I love them like I love my own family. We had the best time and even had a special guest to join us this Christmas! Glad you joined us Rogers hope we didn't scare you off:)

The crazy kiddos...yes, this was the best picture I got!

Caroline with her Hello Kitty socks Aunt Kiki and Uncle Jon gave her

When Jesse was younger all of the boys in the neighborhood had Big Wheels and they formed sort of a club. So Bebe, wanted to restart the tradition and she got all of the grandkids Big Wheels! Thanks Bebe!

Christmas Lunch at Grandmother's

This year, we (the family) broke tradition and had Christmas Lunch at Grandmother's house on Dec. 23. I worked better for everyone's schedule and we wanted everyone to be there to participate. Crea being the wonderful Aunt that she is, handled lunch...and did we feast. It was our job to bring 3 dozen cookies to share in a cookie swap. At first, I was sort of not so excited, when would I have time to make 3 dozen cookies...when I saw my plate of cookies to take home...I became very excited:) This was such a fun activity and I hope it soon gives way to a tradition! Here are some crazy pictures from the day, as you can see we had lots of fun!

Will with his awesome light saber he scored at a really fun birthday. He has played with that thing forever. Very cool idea, by the way if you have a Star Wars party!

Will and Jack battling it out! Everyone wanted to have the red light saber!

Caroline scored some super cute dress up clothes from grandmother and the complete Disney* Princess high heel collection! To see my baby walking around in high heels sort of hurt the heart! She is growing so fast!

This is what I won in Dirty Santa. I personally think that it looks better on Jesse! Savannah, Jesse's cousin is a missionary in Bolivia and she brought this home...Don't feel to bad for me, I scored a J.Crew, Barnes and Noble, and Starbucks gift card too! (Photo credit: Savannah S.)

Check out the pile of cookies we all took home! Yum! I wish I could say they lasted a while!!!

Aunt Crea and Uncle Alan gave the boys super cool sleds this year. We were hoping that the snow on Christmas Day would be enough to use them but we will just have to wait a little longer!
Merry Christmas!

We "Hat" a good time...

A couple of weeks ago, I went to visit baby sister in Chattanooga. She moved there over the summer and this was the first weekend that I was able to sneak away without the kiddos to go visit her. Jesse was out of town, so Poppy volunteered his babysitting services for the weekend (I know, that man is a saint!) This trip was sort of a late celebration of my 30th birthday, so it was perfect for a little girl time! We had the best time. I am truly blessed. Not every one considers their Mother and their Sister, their best friends, but I do. I love these two women so much and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. The weekend was full of laughter and shopping! The big joke between the three of us is that I always am on a mission to find a hat that looks good on me. I am jealous of those women who wear hats and look so cute, like the mom that wears a hat to MDO when she doesn't want to fix her hair. My mother and sister know that I am always on this mission, so they were "trying" to help me find a hat. I think they just liked seeing how funny I looked in all of them. Needless to say, I came away with no hat, but so many fun memories. I love you girls.

Last Santa Visit

Tonight, we went out with my Mom and my sister to look at Christmas Lights. When we were little, this was an annual outing. We would load up the mini-van and head out to check out all the lights in Nashville and Brentwood. Tonight we didn't venture too far, as it was quite cold out! We did make our annual visit to the house in Brentwood that is covered with lights. It is amazing to see. The man and woman that live there, cover their house in lights as a tribute to a son they lost many years ago. What a sweet tribute. Santa was there and we just could not pass up the opportunity to sit in his lap one last time!

Merry Christmas...from our home to yours

In the hustle and bustle of this busy season, I forgot to post pictures of our home decorated for Christmas. I like decorating for Christmas, but this year, I just couldn't get going. I have been behind all season but now, I think we are about ready to celebrate. Isn't that the question everyone has been asking you? Are you ready for Christmas? The other day at work, I asked a sweet friend if she was ready to celebrate Christmas. Her reply was amazingly heartfelt and I knew then I wanted to take on this same spirit. She said, "I am always ready to celebrate the birth of my Savior." Wow, what if we all could have that enthusiasm about the holiday. What if that was all of our focus, not the presents, the Santa, the traditions...what if Jesus coming was the GIFT. After talking to my friend that day, I was so filled with joy that my God would send his son, born into a world of complete sin, to save me. So, I hope that during this season, I can remember the gift I was given. Merry Christmas!
