So, there you have it...we spent our Sunday afternoon at Vand*rbilt Children's and let me tell you... it was sort of like Grey's Anatomy. Caroline fell at my parents church this morning. We didn't really see her fall, but according to the almost three year old testemony, "I did not hurt Sissy, she just fell". So, we took her to the walk in clinic and after they were unable to assess her eye,and unable to calm her down, we headed to VCH. When we arrived, 93% of Davidson County's children were also arriving at the hospital. We were ushered into a waiting room where we began scoping out the least "sick" people to sit by. When we were finally called back, we kept passing these "poor children and parents sitting on stretchers in the hallway". Just as I turned to my mom to say, "I would be so mad if I paid my $100 copay and had to sit in the... we arrived to Hallway 5. It was quite an adventure, one that involved a special lamp and holding Caroline down to look in her eye...Good news, no tear in eye, just a mild scratch. We proceeded to check out, wiped down every square inch of ourselves and our belongings with antibacterial solution, and we were on our way. I really hope that I don't have to do that again... especially twice, in two weeks.
