Christmas Time is Coming!

Bebe and Caroline
The Dynamic Duo
It is almost here and I am so sorry that I have neglected you all over the past few days, the stomach virus lingered a little bit longer and infected a few more family members, but I really do think we are on the mend this time... just in time for the big day! Today is really our Christmas Eve because Jesse has to work on Christmas Day, so Santa is coming to our house tonight and we couldn't be more excited! Will has been really good the past few days in anticipation of the man in red coming!
We have a had so much fun the past three days doing family Christmas with Jesse side of the family. I am going to post what pictures I have and I am hopeful getting some pics from others that took them that day. Saturday was the annual Manchester Christmas. I had to work but Jesse and the kids were able to go with Bebe's help! Sunday night was Bebe's Christmas and boy, did we have a blast! Will and Jack had so much fun playing together, they didn't want to leave. The food was yummy, the company was great, and a fun time was had by all! Last night was the Sielbeck Christmas. As always it was so much fun. Dirty Santa got down and dirty when a one week stay at the Sielbecks condo was thrown into the mix! So fun, thanks for a great night once again!

Lastly, Will participated in the "too many to count" annual Christmas Pageants at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. It was not too many years ago that I graced that same stage as an angel or even Mary for a couple of years. Have you ever read the book, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"? Well, it happens every year, the Sunday before Christmas in the little unincorporated town of Bethesda and this year my little guy was one of the Wise Men. Does anyone see the irony of a two year old Wise Man? Hilarious. However, beyond the laughs and the smiles they all received the true message of the season was displayed in old bathrobes and tinsel halos, "Jesus came to Earth to Save". It really was a beautiful pageant and I was really proud of my wise guy!

Guess who we met...
He talked about him all week and on Saturday they finally came face to face.

I was worried that he would not sit on his lap, but Will fell in love with the man!

They talked about trucks and snowmen, oh, and the fact that he is coming to town.

Check this picture out...I think Jesse and I are the only ones getting something from Santa!

Thanks for sharing your birthday with us Dad and for inviting us to Apcom for Breakfast with Santa! Happy Birthday!

Christmas is ForGiving

Read my friend Court's blog. The video she has on there is really a sobering thought for most of us this season. It made me think of something I heard on the radio a few days ago. I was driving down the road and in between finding a lost sippy cup, turning on the movie, and calming a crying baby, I heard a moving commercial. It was a giving campagin for Christmas for children. It was a moving commercial and it made me stop to think, however, at the end of the commercial, the announcer said, "Christmas is For Giving". However, in between all the noise in the car, I thought the announcer said "Christmas is ForGiving". Once I processed it I realized it was the first one but the latter seemed so much more appropriate. Christmas is For Giving and ForGiving. Our Lord sent His most precious gift to Earth to forgive our sins. Thank you God for your most precious gift this season!

Our two most precious gifts!

Precious gift made for Mommy and Daddy by Precious gift #1! He is quite the little artist! :)

Precious gift #2 turned four months today! She is becoming so much fun!!!

Providence

One year ago today, I woke up to this...

Let's just say it was really unexpected. Will had just turned one, we were closing on our home in less than a month, and then we were going to be homeless. Was this really His plan? I mean to all the mothers out there, you know it is the greatest job on earth and to be chosen again, I mean I was definitely honored, but it was quite unexpected. It was not until one whole year later I looked up the word Providence. According to Meriam Webster, Providence is divine guidance or care: God conceived as the power sustaining and guiding human destiny. There is no better word to describe God's gift of Caroline to our family. It was a divine guidance. Is it not wonderful that our God chooses a plan for us and it is so much better than any plan we could choose for ourselves. So, I will celebrate one of the greatest gifts of Providence as I look at baby girl today.

Christmas Kick-off

Well, the turkey has been eaten, the family has been hugged, the tree and the stockings out of the attic, we've drug. Yep, we have decked our halls! We are counting down shopping days and talking about Santa and Baby Jesus! We know baby Jesus came, but Santa might be another story! Will has been trying out naughty vs. nice and he has needed much encouragement these past few days because naughty is winning! I did manage to snap a few cute pictures of the kids at Thankgiving with my side of the family and decorating the tree. I am waiting on pictures from Jesse's side of the family Christmas, so I will post those soon.

It is official. Baby Caroline has two new tricks...Laughing out loud and sucking her thumb! I managed to take a few pictures of the thumb sucking in action. Just like her Aunt Jen!

Well, the countdown is on! Twenty four days till Christmas!!!
