Spring Hill's Best Kept Secret

Okay, so ever so often, you find something and it is so adorable, so great that you really want to keep it to yourself but you just can't because it is so great and so adorable that you just feel the need to share it. Well, that happened to me yesterday. Upon some great advice from a family friend, I headed to Spring Hill to check out a tiny little place in the middle of nowhere called Sugar Ridge Creations. It is so hidden that if you aren't looking closely, you just might miss it and trust me you don't want to miss it. Inside in the back room are some of the most adorable children's clothes and two really sweet ladies behind all of these creative designs. I am going to post a few pictures I took with her permission, but they do not do her work justice. You will have to go check it out for yourself. Whether you need a gift for a new baby or matching Christmas clothes for your kiddies, Sugar Ridge Creations is your place! Tell them Amanda sent you. Check out their blog for their latest designs and you can also order from her Etsy store. Sugar Ridge Creations is having an Christmas Open House Nov 13-15 from 10 am-5 pm and you don't want to miss it. I loved the clothes so much I plan on hosting a trunk show in Feb. so mark your calendars!

Friday night we hung with MAC, Will and Caroline's adorable cousin. She is so cute and she and Caroline had the best time hanging out together...and so did their mommies!

Pop Pop hasn't felt to well over the weekend. We hope you feel better soon!

Love your cute grandkids!

Video Killed the Radio Star

I can remember when I was younger listening to tapes that my Mother had made of my sister and I talking. It sounded so sweet hearing our little voices, but I was always a little sad that you couldn't see my or my sisters sweet face. My mom has encouraged me since Will was born to "tape"/"videotape" his sweet voice. She has always said that years from now I will have forgotten how sweet those little voices are, and it is nice to have a reminder. So, here you go my friends. Aren't you so glad that video killed the radio? I sure am. The videography is not stellar, but the subject is so darn cute, that you won't mind...will you?

"Wook Mom, it is my leg"

Yep, you guessed it. Will got his cast off yesterday. He did great until Matt, the super nice cast guy, pulled out the "special vacum cleaner" as he called it to cut the cast off. Will went from giving Matt hi-fives to climbing into my lap and melting down. Once the cast came off he became his old self again and was running around like crazy. He was so excited to see his leg and he kept pointing to it. It was slightly skinny and a little dirty but I hadn't seen it in four long weeks and well, I had really missed that sweet little leg. We took a picture of the McQueen crocs to document how dirty he really gets. Check out the difference! The doctors, nurses, x-ray techs, and the cast tech are so wonderful at the Bone and Joint Clinic. If it were not for the circumstance, it would be a great place to visit! Something very special happened while Will was getting his cast off. I know that my God meets me where I am and he comes in many forms. I believe he came to me in a very sweet woman that just happened to be sitting right next to us waiting to have her son's cast put on also. We started talking and she asked me the difference in ages of my children. I told her and she started telling me that she had three children and two of them were just about the same distance apart as Will and Caroline. I know that the Lord was speaking through her yesterday when she told me that "this time" (having two so close together) passes too quickly. She spoke of how it seems so hard when you are in it but how you long for it once it passes. Her sons were now 13 and 12. It was a small conversation but it spoke volumes to me... it made me stop and try to enjoy this time, even if this time is hard.

Today, my sweet friends at Williamson Medical threw Caroline a shower. Robin was in charge. It was absoulutely beautiful and I really appreciate it. They showered Caroline and she received so many beautiful things.

So tonights post is devoted entirely to sweet Miss C. I, like all moms, feel the pressure to not be "blog biased". You know what I am talking about...where you just post pics, ramble on and on, and give one child more face time. We all face this as parents, we want to be fair. In fact, I am so silly and usually feel so much pressure to be fair that I end up posting some silly picture of the other one just to be fair. Well, not tonight. Miss C has center stage. Take it away Sissy.

Hi all. These are my latest photo head shots. They were taken in this nice little number I picked up at my baby shower. The photographer (aka: High pitch voiced, crazy lady, I think my brother refers to her as "Mommy") would not quit snapping pics of me. I was so over it by the end. I was so tired of posing that I had to scream at the top of my lungs, I think "the photographer" calls it "pitching a fit". Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Maauah! Love, Caroline

Tonight, Miss Caroline received a lovely brown bow from a one, E.J. I think the Hairbow Mafia "Boss" , aka. S.C. put a hit out on Miss Caroline! Poor Caroline wears the same pink bow with every outfit. I know, that has to be breaking some kind of HBM rule. So, she must have got together with E.J. and discussed Miss C's need for more acessories. Now we are rockin a new bow for now, unfortunately I think soon we are going to be temporairly "offed" as we are losing hair at a rapid pace. Thanks E.J. for our new bow. We will wear it proudly!

There is no gas in Franklin, Thompson Station, or Spring Hill...really?

Jesse says, "This is what I get for buying this silly thing", I, however, am still holding on to the thought of him wearing this for Halloween. I am thrifty, I am always looking for a deal, some might call me "down right cheap". I picked up this little beauty for Will last year at the Disney store for $6.00, yep, it retailed for $29.99.... So, can you imagine my excitement? See Exhibit A.

So, we busted Donald out two days ago and we are going to try wearing it for the next month. The first day did not go well. Is this cruel punishment? See Exibit B.

Do you think she is too little for it? Exhibit C.

And if not her, I guess I will be eating the $6.00 or wearing it myself! Exhibit D.

Washing Wednesday

Don't we all feel like this when it is Laundry Day!

With helpers like this anything is fun! Well, I think Will is enjoying it a little more than Caroline is!

Ahh, we are finally finished! Yea!

"Therefore, whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory." - 1 Corinthians 10:31

I really have to keep this in mind on Laundry Day!!!

On a serious note, please pray for Charlie and Leslie Irwin. Jesse went on a mission trip with Charlie this May. I do not know either one of them personally, but as a parent my heart is breaking for them. Please pray for a miracle for their daughter who is very sick in China. You can read more at Room for at least one more

Happy Wednesday!

We heart Monty!

Now, that I have your attention...Vote for Mr. Monty Lankford in the upcoming election for the 4th Congressional District. We were not able to make the Luau this past weekend but I am glad it was such a success. Jesse is a long time friend to all of the Lankford men and Washington would be so lucky as to have a man like Mr. Monty! HE is a Godly man with strong morals and he will do what is right, even when it is not popular. If you live in the 4th district (see Tiff's blog for a map of the voting) VOTE FOR MR. LANKFORD. If you do not live in his district, spread the word to friend's who do live in that district!

Will and Caroline's cousin, Davis, came over to visit us today. He is a doll and we love to see his smiling face!

Twenty -two wonderful months

Will is twenty two months today! Wow, time has flown! I was driving him home last night from our good friend Ashley C. house and he was sitting quietly in the back seat. All of a sudden I heard this quiet little voice say, "Where did the moon go?" For a second before I could answer I thought about how innocent that question really was. I never want him to loose that, oh, I know he will, but for right now and in that moment he was so precious and so innocent. Thank you God for Will and the joy that he has brought Jesse and I in the short 22 months! Here are some of my other favorite phrases that he busts out all the time.

"Where Daddy go"

"Why Cureline crying?"

"Wook Sissy, it is a ______."

"I wuv you Sissy!"

Other big news, Caroline had her first sleepover last night. My friend, Emily and her sweet girl, Lila spent the night with my crew last night. Our husbands were both out of town, so we thought it would be fun to have a fun girls night + Will!

Caroline was first to go to sleep, hope she doesn't get shaving cream put on her face!

Four years ago today...

I married a wonderful man. And four years later I cannot believe how full and rich my life is. I am so blessed to share my life with Jesse and our two wonderful children. He is a amazing man with a wonderful heart and I am a very lucky girl.
Thinking back on this day, one of the happiest of my life, was definitely one of the saddest for others. Today I celebrate this wonderful day but remember those who lost their loved ones on 9-11. Happy Anniversary Honey. I love you more each day. To these four and many more to come!

We went to "Cool"

I have been prepping Will for this day all summer long. We have talked about it, prayed about it, and anticipated it. So imagine his surprise this morning when I said it has finally arrived. Will had his first day of MDO (for those of you not Mom's of preschoolers-Mother's Day Out). It went better than expected. We had a few tears at drop off but lots of smiles at pick up! It was bittersweet for me, maybe a little more sweet than bitter! I have 5 whole hours of semi-alone time!!!! I did miss him though and couldn't wait to see him at pick up! Check out my big boy going to school for the first time ever!!!!

I am posting a video of Caroline! She is so smiley lately. She would not perform for the camera, isn't that just how3 it goes. Please disregard the annoying voice in the video, Caroline seems to like it though!

Caroline's Closet...

is full of adorable baby clothes and girly things showered upon us by my wonderful friends! My Sunday school class threw a shower for sweet baby Caroline this afternoon. It was such a beautiful shower and Caroline received so many sweet things. I am so glad our S.S class chooses to celebrate every baby, not just the first!!!
