LONG POST....
We had quite a busy weekend, but it was so fun. On Friday night, Will and I went to the Relay for Life at BGA. Both of Will's grandmothers were on teams, so it was such a fun event! If you have never been to the Relay for Life event, you are missing out. It is an extraordinary event that takes place in every county in the state and raises money and awareness for cancer. My grandmother is a four year survivor of breast cancer and Aunt Bren Bren has survived cancer for almost ten years! WoW!!! These two women are so important to me that I could not help but cry tears of joy for their victory over this terrible disease. They have a survior's dinner and walk and we were there to cheer them on! It is a great cause and you should make plans to attend next year!
On Saturday, we headed down to Culleoka, TN for the Annual Farmer Family Renunion. I am talking big deal folks! Trula, Jesse's grandmother and organizer, sends out invites the day after Easter, so everyone is expected to attend! It is actually a super fun event. It takes place on a farm with tons of animals, so the children are entertained for hours, giving the adults time to chit chat and eat! Will had a blast this year. Last year, he was only 7 months old so he wasn't able to check out everything the farm had to offer. This year, a different story! He had the best time looking at the sheep and the goats, and he fell in love with the two baby pugs. He had such a good time playing with all of his cousins and it was great to see everyone. I wish we were able to spend time together more often!

Saturday evening we met my Dad for dinner. He just got in from three weeks in China, so Will was so excited to see his Pop Pop! His little face just lit up when my Dad got out of the car. It was a really nice dinner and we were able to celebrate Father's Day with my family, my sister and her boyfriend, Trey. Jesse was just home for the day, so he headed back out and we spent the night with Na Na and Pop Pop.

Today, we celebrated Father's Day, with a cook out at my parent's house. It was lots of fun and we can't wait until Jesse gets home. We went to church with my parents today and Will made his 1st Father's Day card in Sunday School. I can't wait for Jesse to see it.

On a more serious note, I want to address the real meaning of this weekend.
FATHER'S DAY
As I reflect on what this day means to me, I realize how lucky I am to have had/have a wonderful earthly father. I was truly blessed in this department. He was a very involved Dad, never missing the important stuff in my life, like multiple softball games and cheerleading competitions (he deserves lots of credit for those),proms, graduations, wedding, birth of my first child, and so many events that have helped to shape who I am. He was definitely a hands on father. Now, I am enjoying watching my wonderful husband be the same kind of father to our son. He is totally devoted to our son and is providing an excellent example of how a Godly man should lead his life. I know someday that Will will realize how truly wonderful his Dad is. With all this being said, I am reminded of the beautiful verse in Proverbs about a man/father.
The righteous man walks in his intergrity; his children are blessed after him. Proverbs 20:7
This verse is so true. We learn by example and I am so thankful that I had a wonderful example and that my son will have a wonderful example. When you realize how much your earthly father loves you it makes you overwhelmed with how much the Father must truly love you!
How blessed are the children
Who in their fathers see
The tender Father-love of God,
And find their way to thee.- Johnson
I am so thankful for all the wonderful Fathers in my life and I hope they had a wonderful day!
We love you.
